Herriman High Record Holder in the 3200m (9:17.63) and the 2000m Steeplechase (6:12.32)

4th in the 3200m at State

Qualified for Nationals in the 2000m Steeple.

Team was Runner-Up in Track.

  • Be top 5 on the team at every meet
  • Top 6 at the WAC Championships (Got injured the week of Conference so couldn't finish)
  • Top 30 at the XC Regional Race (Still injured with a stress fracture) 
  • Do my best at every meet

Little update on the past couple months. I got injured the week before WAC Championships and when I got in the race I only ran 1400m before I had to drop out. University of Idaho had a good showing putting there top 3 before our 5 but because they were really weak at 4-5 we pulled out the win by like 8 points I think. Because of my injury I was held out of Mountain Regionals where Our team took 13 out of 17 teams. I went to the doctor at the end of the season and got my ankle MRI'd and they found out it was a stress reaction in my ankle and put me in a boot for a couple weeks then they eased me into cross training slowly after that and then running a couple weeks later. Over the winter break I climbed my way back into training and worked really hard to get my mileage back to normal and by the end of the break was at 40 minutes.

Today I did 2x8 minute tempo at 5:30 pace at Lakeside. I was feeling alright for the first little bit but my fitness was not at 100% so I really struggled. I turned around and did my last one a bit faster and went a little further then i did on the first one even though it was uphill. I am really hopeful for this next season and I am not going to let this injury hurt my training any longer.

PM- Ran 6 miles with Brenden and Kev-Tar through Carterville and then back. We chilled in the hot tub and sauna afterwards at Golds.

PM-2x1000, 1x800, 2x400, and 2x200. I felt good on the first interval but I was not in that good of shape. After the first 800 i dropped back and ran with Rush and Logan for the last half of the workout. Did a 20 minute warmup and less of a cooldown then did weights and then headed to pilates.
