I went and put on my spikes then did drills with the guys. Our workout was 2x&nbsp;2 mile + 1 mile at 10:00 and 4:50 but right as we were starting, it started getting really windy and snowing/hailing! About 1200 meters into the first repeat my shoe came untied and I decided to just finish the repeat before tying it. I finished in 10:03 but since it was snowing so bad, Coach told us to go on a distance run because it wouldn&#39;t have been beneficial so I put on trainers and then a couple of the guys decided to do another mile before calling it. I just went to Astronomy and took notes and then headed back to my apartment to get some lunch then head over to the track. I have felt pretty good about today because its my first 5000 on the track. I went and hung out with the team but there was little shade so I was out in the sun all day.</p> <p>When the girls were running the 100m Seth made the decision to go warmup right then so we went and did the 2 mile loop. When we got back they were running the girls 800m so we still had the 400m hurdles and the 200m and the girls 5000 before we run so we warmed up really early so I tried to keep moving around. I borrowed Jeff&#39;s Matumbo&#39;s for today to see how they fit so I got new spikes in them. We went and did another mile when it got closer to our race and then headed to the bullpen to get our numbers. I found out that Ryan Waite and Kyle McKenna were running the 5000m but were going to dropout after 3200m and 3600m. I put my spikes on then did idiot drills and striders before heading to the line.</p> <p>RACE: I took off and got out in third place but then got immediately boxed in by a bunch of Colorado Mesa Kids and a Utah State kid who I couldn&#39;t see who it was. I stuck in 3-5th for the next couple laps but decided that there pace was too fast for me because I was stuggling a little bit. I settled into 75&#39;s which was too slow but I had no idea how I was supposed to feel so I didn&#39;t want to go out way too hard and die. I did this for the next mile and a half then I realized I was going too slow so I picked it up to 73&#39;s for the rest of the way. I got caught by a kid from Idaho State but I out kicked him in the last 70.</p> <p>I ran a 15:24.16 which converts to 15:02.5, and Seth ran a 15:21.06&nbsp;which converts to 14:59.5. I was really happy with my race but I might not get into Mt. Sac which would really suck but oh well. The workout was 2 x 600m, 400m, 300m, 200m, and 100m at 4:08 pace. They hurt a lot but I hit all of my times and then did a 30 minute run inside the school because it was raining and hailing and really windy outside.</p> <p>I talked to Coach Houle and we decided it would be good if I didnt redshirt this year so I decided to run the 5000. I want to run sub 15:20 so I can get a 20 second conversion to put me below 15 minutes. I figure I can run around a 15:12 which is 3 4:52 miles which I think shouldn&#39;t be too hard. The workout was 8x1000m with 3 minutes rest at 2:58-3:10. I ended up running 2:58-3:00 for all of them. Afterwards I did a mile and a half cooldown. I showered and then went and stretched and rolled out. I got a massage from one of the trainers followed by an ice bath. I found out that I&#39;m running the 5,000m this weekend. We ran 70&#39;s for the first 1/3 of the repeats and then dropped to 68&#39;s for the next couple and then ran 67&#39;s for the last part of the workout. Coach let us go all out on the last one so I ran a 60 and Brenden ran a 58.
