Couldn't get to sleep last night because I felt really sick to my stomach and then I woke at $ in the morning to throw up and couldn't fall back asleep afterwards. Got to the race pretty early and watched Lucy win the girls race. We then got warmed up and watched 3A boys start and I went to the bathroom to puke my guts out for the third time today. Did some striders back at our spot and then put our spikes on and headed to the line. Did some idiot drills and some more striders and then our cheer which is just the Husker Prayer. We got to start and the starter expained what we were supposed to be doing (everyone already knows).

RACE: I took off pretty fast but Connor and Rory went off a bit faster and cut me off, so I jumped around them and got up to the lead pack. I ran right behind the leaders for the first mile and moved to the front around the lake. I stayed in first until we hit the lake and then my little sleep and nearly no food in my stomach finally caught up to me and I ran out of energy and got passed by Jerrell, Jake, Connor and Rory at the lake. I didn't have a very strong finish after that. I was 7 seconds behind Rory and 23 behind the leader.

After the race I stood around for about 20 minutes to see the team results and we had won by the tie-breaker. We went and got our trophy and then went to cool down. We watched 5A boys finish then finished our cool down.

Fantastic job Chuck with being sick and all! Low fuel is a big deal.

Nice job, I didn't know you were sick. You were racing really strong for the first 2.5 miles.
