Qualified for Nationals in the 2000m Steeple.

Team was Runner-Up in Track.

The team was up at Butterfield Canyon but I had a driving road so I ran on my own. I ran the Maverick Route then around Daybreak Lake then back home on the 5k course. Average pace was a little over 7 minutes, I felt pretty good and I was dressed really warm so it was a good run.

Pretty good run with the team before pre footlocker. We ran on the trail up to mirabella then took mirabella back to rosecrest then to shaggy peak. My legs are pretty sore from all the workouts lately so I am pretty nervous about tomorrow. All in all a pretty good run even though it was really cold.

Warmed up with the guys about 1 and a half mile before getting our spikes on. Got my Nike Victories and the rest of the stuff I was going to wear for the race. After doing some striders and idiot drills I talked with some of the other teams before Timo came out and told us what to do.

I made sure to get out in the lead when the gun was shot so I wouldn't get stuck behind traffic and have to weave in and out to get to the front. At about 3/4ths of a mile in Mack and Clayton pulled up next to me and Tyson Boyer from Pine View and finished our first mile in 5:17. The rest of the race was pretty much all the same until the last half mile where Clayton Brayden Mclelland and Mack began kicking. They pulled ahead and since I had lead the 1st mile I was pretty exhausted. I came in right behind Tyson for a 5th place finish and I talked with Clayton Mack Brayden and Tyson who were surprised to hear I was a junior.

Cooled down with Coach Barnes and the Varsity guys for 4 miles up near Lone Peak High School.

Easy run up the trail to about 2 miles then back down to Monarch with the guys. We did striders and learned that pre-Nike is like a road race in that they start everyone at the same time. I am pretty excited to race Brad Nye before Nike Southwest.

Warmup with the team while watching the open races which were pretty fun to watch. Put on my spikes and headed to the check-in station then to the line. The race announcer called out the teams as the runners did their run-outs. Did some idiot drills and headed back to the line.

When it started I went strider pace for the first 1000m before settling in right and then came in through the mile at 4:53 in 20th place. Fell off pace a little bit and then went through the 2 mile at a 10:11 which is really fast for me. Then the sun came out and it got really hot for the last mile which was brutal. The Last 900m I caught Haven Shelton from Pleasant Grove and started kicking. The clock read 16:15 when I came in which was really dissapointing because I wanted a sub 16 minute 5k.

It wasn't until later when the results had me at a 15:58 which made me really happy. The team got 10th which was great for a second year school with 4 Juniors and 3 Sophomores. I am really glad I got to do this. Later did a cooldown with the guys and talked to the Mountain View guys who were all nice except Jadyn Asay.

Warm up with Connor and Rory around shopping mall

Got to the starting line and waited for a while. When the race started I got right with the leader but fell off a bit. Came through the half way point in second but ahead of the 5k winner Brandon Clark. This is were I decided I was never going to do this race ever again, the entire street was filled up with walkers who wouldn't move when you had to get by them. The rest of the race made me so mad that I wanted to hit the race director. I finished with a 34:20 which is a PR but still I could have done way better if I had two thousand less people to deal with.

Never going to do the 10k ever again.
