PM- Met at Monarch Meadows with the team then ran our warm up to the 800 hill. We did striders and idiot drills to warm up before coach told us our workout. It was ladders.

4x200m- We were around 35-37 on all of them and they weren't that difficult.

4x300m- We ran around 57-58 on these because the hill got steeper after the 200 mark and they were extremely difficult.

3x400m- Probably the easiest ones, we ran around 1:15-1:20 on these but we were pacing them where we would go faster and faster the further up we went.

4x300m- Nearly killed me, I was seeing spots and stars and we were only hitting 57's. Probably tougher than my workout last week than Kramer.

4x200m- Back to the easier ones. We went 36-37 on the first two then 38 then on the last one we decided to race it as fast as we could go. I pulled away at around the 75 mark and tried to keep my lead from Connor. At the last 15-25 meters Connor started to catch back up but I was a bit too much ahead so I won.

We did our cool down back to the park and then I had to go ask a girl to prom so I couldn't go to the gym but I'll try and make up for it tomorrow.

In between each repeat we did deep breathing to help loosen back up and we figured that helped a lot. I tried to work on my competitiveness which I have noticed has been suffering the past few weeks and I need that edge. I tried to win every repeat but fell short on the 400's but I was trying so hard the whole time. My foot was feeling good the whole way and I never had to stop to stretch it. Pine View here I come.

PM- Met at Monarch again and did core with the team. We got what events we are doing at Pine View and at the Region Meet tomorrow. I am doing just the 3200m at PV and the 800m tomorrow (medley or open). We went for a 5.3 mile run with a couple striders at the end. I am so excited to leave for Pine View and get away from the crappy weather.

After we finished I went to the gym and did 10x50 yard repeats in the pool with 1 minute recovery and 300 warmup and cool down. After I went to the weight room and did an big upper body workout because I won't be able to do it the rest of the week because we will be in PV! I am thinking of doing a triathlon this summer, I might do the Blackridge Tri but I might have to ask Coach Scott if we have something conflicting but I would definately like to do one this summer and see what I get because I have done a lot of biking and swimming lately and will continue to do it.

PM- Got to the meet and did a 2 mile shakeout with the guys and then watched the races for today. Our team was winning by a lot by the 3rd event and we kept scoring more points. Finally I got together my Medley team, I got Jared, Jaren, and Carson to run the 2-2-4 and I would run the 800m leg to anchor.  I warmed up a mile and did some striders and idiot drills.

RACE: Jared took off an gave us an immediate lead and when Jaren got the baton we lost it but Carson ran a 51 second 4 leg putting us back in the lead and giving me a 2 or 3 second head start. I thought he would catch me immediately so I was pushing as hard as I could to not let that happen and my first lap was a 1:01. I dropped my arms a bit to shake out a bit and began to try for my dads goal of 2:05 but at 200 left I was out of gas and thought for sure the Hillcrest kid would catch me. But I got a bit more encouraged when my dad was yelling my time at me so I got what ever I had left and sprinted to the finish line crossing in about 2:06.

We won by over 100m and I put 17 seconds on the next guy. Afterwards I cooled down a mile with the hurdlers and then got on the bus to leave. Its really nice to win my first race and get my confidence up. Now, Pine View.

Woke up and got on the bus to head to St. George. Our bus broke down in Lehi so we had to wait for a new bus and then got on the longest bus ride ever. When we got off the bus I went and did 4 with Barnes plus striders.

Went and watched the races with guys. Connor ran a 4:27 and Rory did a 4:30 mile. Ben ran 4:16 with a 58 second last lap. I went on a cool down with Jake and Kramer which was like 4 miles but we got lost and had to climb up some hills to get back. We talked about Nationals and stuff like that. Pretty good day and now I need to prepare for the 3200m and Medley tomorrow.

AM- Woke up at like 6:45 and got my stuff packed and headed out of the hotel. We got to the meet with about an hour to spare and I warmed up with Ben and Rory on the track so we wouldn't miss the heats. I did some idiot drills and then got my new spikes on. They are the lightest that they sell so I was feeling pretty good about them.

RACE: We took off at like a 1:08 first lap and Ben was already out ahead by at least 20 meters. I stayed in 5th for the next 6 laps and tried to draft off the pack of Jaydn, Jake, and Mike. At 800 to go Jake took off and it was just Mike, Jaydn and I and in the last 500m Mike took off and I chased him. I passed Jaydn at around 300 left and finished in a 9:35 3 seconds in between Jaydn and Mike. My last lap was around a 1:05-1:06.

I was indifferent about my time because I thought I could have beaten it but I guess it wasn't the right conditions. I cooled down a couple miles with Mike and Jake and talked about our signings and contracts and stuff like that. Later I ran the medley which added another 2 miles to my day and I ran a 2:09 which pissed me off. I went home with my parents and got to Herriman 2 hours ahead of the bus and we won the Team title!!!!
